Architecture

Utilistor has three components - Server, Dashboard & Client.

The Server does all of Utilistor’s processing and scheduling
The Dashboard is the central GUI for managing your storage
The Client installs on any machine that has data you want to monitor and manage.

All three components can be installed on a single machine.

The client is installed on any machine that has data that requires monitoring and managing. The client can be installed on the same machine as the server and/or the dashboard. There is no upper limit on the amount of clients that can be managed by a single Utilistor server.

Licensing

Otium offer friendly flexible licensing terms. Our aim is to allow people to use the software they need, on the servers they want at the times they need it.

Currently Otium offer two functionality modules in the Utilistor suite. Disk Space Monitor (DSM) and Disk Space Reporter (DSR). Licensing is simple, purchase a module or the modules for ech machine you want that particular functionality to run on.

As an example. If you have 20 windows 2000 servers in your environment, and you required DSM functionality on 12 of them and DSR functionality on 5 of them. You would purchase 12 DSM licenses and 5 DSR licenses. Included in this purchase you receive the Utilistor standard server and the Utilistor dashboard.

The Utilistor Standard server has scheduling function included with it. The scheduling is limited to Utilistor jobs only. However for a small fee, you can upgrade to the enhanced Utilistor Server. This includes an external job scheduler. Allowing you to schedule external jobs on any machine that is licensed as a Utilistor client.

Only one Utilistor Server can be installed per group of client licenses (your Utilistor domain) that are purchased

Licence Bundles

Otium offer each functional module in client packs of 1, 5, 10, 25, 50 and 100

Otium also offer the combined Utilistor suite in client packs of 1, 5, 10, 25, 50 and 100

The dashboard and server are provided free of charge with your first functional module client that you purchase. However for a small fee external job scheduling can be provided.
